Getting started

The first step to a great career is finding the right fit for you.

At Bank of America, we value differences — in thought, style, culture, ethnicity and experience. Above all, we’re looking for candidates with a genuine interest in our business and a passion for teamwork. Please review the individual job descriptions for specific technical or language requirements for eligibility. If you require any extra support or adjustments during the process, we welcome you to notify a member of the campus recruiting team for further assistance.

Summer internships typically last for 10 weeks and attract students in their penultimate year of university who aim to start work full-time the following year. The summer internship class is our primary source of hiring into our full-time campus programs. An internship is a great way to get a taste of what a full-time role in your team of interest would be like and hone your skills through structured performance evaluations, training, development and social opportunities offered throughout the program.

Full-time Analyst and Associate programs are designed for candidates who are ready to start work upon university graduation. If applying to an Analyst role, typically you’ll be studying toward a bachelor’s degree. Associate level roles are generally right for you if you have a master’s degree, MBA, an equivalent advanced degree or previous work experience.

The program format and offering varies by business but all programs offer formal, ongoing training and development opportunities, structured performance evaluations, mentoring support and networking opportunities — all set to supplement your on-the-job learning and experiences.

Application timeline

Analyst Internship and Full-Time recruiting takes place on a rolling basis once applications open. Interviews often begin before the deadline, so it's best to submit your application early, as programs will close as positions are filled. All candidates must apply online via our Bank of America application system in addition to any resume drop you may be required to take part in via your careers service office.

For our Associate level — MBA program applications, please attach your resume and cover letter in one document, and ensure you apply under the name of the educational institution you are currently attending.

Insight week/pre-internship program applicants will also be required to apply online.

For opportunities in Canada, the application and recruiting process typically takes place from August to September for Full-Time positions and from November to January for Summer Internship recruiting.

We encourage you to refer to specific job descriptions for further details of individual program requirements and confirmation of deadline dates. All our recruiting timelines and processes across the U.S. and Canada may also vary by school; please refer to your Career Services team for more information.

A program may consider the employment of individuals requiring H-1B or other visa sponsorship (including F-1 student visas who will require and may be eligible for conversion to an H-1B or alternate visa status after the expiration of their Optional Practical Training [OPT] on a case-by-case basis). Such individuals will be considered for employment when the company determines it necessary and in the best interests of the business to hire the individual to obtain the specific skills required for a given job/training program and to be competitive in the marketplace. Typically, once you accept an offer in a given location we do not recommend you change locations. However, this is something you would need to connect with your recruiter on and it would be up to their discretion.

Does Bank of America provide housing?

No, every intern is responsible to seek their own housing for a summer program. However, the bank provides resources prior to the summer to support your search.

Please note: Messages left for other purposes such as following up on an application or non-disability-related technical issues will not receive a response.
